My beloved Missouri Tigers rolled yesterday beating up on the Texas Tech Red Raiders 41-10. It was a warm fall afternoon and a great day to be a Tiger fan.
I was particularly impressed with the defense that is getting better every game. They are young but the improvement they have shown since the start of the season has been impressive. Texas Tech had come into the game leading the nation in offense. But, Mizzou held them to ten points all day and shut out Tech in the second half. The D picked off four Graham Harrell passes and converted one for a touchdown in the first quarter to send the Tigers on their way. Harrell has been included on several lists as a Heisman trophy candidate.
The Missouri offense also played a great game with a balanced running and passing attack. The score was 10-7 at the half but Mizzou scored on it's first four possessions of the second half to put the game away.
The game lasted three and a half hours since Harrell threw the ball 69 times. And ABC showed the game regionally which made the commercial time outs longer than usual. But, still it was a great day to be at a football team and spend time with friends.
