Honestly, I did not
support making it a federal holiday because we already have the M L King
Holiday in January and Independence Day two weeks from now.
Still, it is something that was requested by the African American community, including many of my friends and it was a huge day when Lincoln emancipated the slaves in 1863. The fact that a bunch of cracker morons already knew of the proclamation and didn't pass the news along to thousands of the people who were taking care of them and doing back breaking labor, is what is extremely hard to comprehend.

So, Happy Juneteenth to America for recognizing the day and the injustice by so many to thousands almost 160 years ago.
