Happy Semiquincentennial

 Happy 250th Birthday United States of America!

I am blessed to live in the USA. We are still the richest and most powerful nation in the world. But more importantly, I'm allowed to worship as I please. I am able to express myself and criticize our leaders as I see fit due to the Bill of Rights of this great land.

We are passionate about how our nation should be run. We are more divided now than I remember when we celebrated the Bicentennial on Sunday, July 4, 1976. But in the end, we are all still Americans wanting the very best for our democracy, our heirs and future generations of Americans.

We are one of the longest running democracies in the history of this world. This has been accomplished through the sacrifice of thousands upon thousands of patriots going back to the Revolution against the British. It continues today with our troops deployed in Iran and other Middle East hot-spots. The brave men and women of our military paid the ultimate price for our liberty. I have no good way of sufficiently expressing my gratitude to them and to those who have served in conflicts such as the War of 1812, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and now Iran. I say thank you to all of our armed forces, past and present! Because of you, I'm able to live in what I truly believe is the greatest nation in the history of the world! Happy Semi-quincentennial America! May God bless America! Long may she stand!

Memorial Day in the United States of America

Thank you to those who have paid the ultimate price to keep this great nation free. I also say thank you to the brave men and women of our armed forces who put their lives on the line each and every day to keep the rest of us safe especially those in harms way today in the Iran War. Happy Memorial Day! May God bless the United States of America!

Hail to the Chief

At Noon today, Donald J. Trump became the 47th President of the United States of America.  Trump took the oath of office from Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts inside the rotunda of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.  (Trump appointed Roberts during Trump's first time in office).

Trump wasted little time in signing executive orders reversing many actions started by his predecessor Joe Biden who left office after Trump completed his oath to uphold the constitution of the United States.

From a citizen of the United States my hope is Mr. Trump is able to deliver on the many promises he made to his backers during a long nasty campaign by him and his advisors.  If Mr. Trump is right, the war between Ukraine and Boris Putin in Moscow, should be over by the end of tomorrow.

248 and Going Strong!

These brave men and women paid the ultimate price for our enduring freedom. I have no good way of sufficiently expressing my gratitude to them and to those who have served in conflicts such as World War I, World War II, Korea,  Vietnam and wars in the Middle East. Today I say thank you to all of our armed forces past and present. Because of you I am able to live in what I truly believe is the greatest nation on earth. Happy Birthday America!  248 years old and still going strong!

Happy Flag Day 2022

Today is Flag Day in the United States of America.  It is a chance for Americans to take pride in the nation's flag and a chance for everyone to display it prominently.  Long may she wave!

Happy Memorial Day 2018!

Thank you to the United States of America Armed Forces present and past.  As we celebrate this weekend, with barbecues and get togethers with family and friends let's not lose sight of what Memorial Day means.  Memorial Day is set aside to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation, and to those who are ready to step into harms way to keep us all safe.  I give my personal thanks to the hundreds of thousands of US troops who are serving in various posts around the world. Your bravery allows me to sleep  at night knowing people who want to destroy the United States are being held at bay. Thank you very much!

Happy Independence Day 2014!

I have frequently criticized the leadership of the nation I live in.  It is the United States of America.  I believe the polarization in the US House and Senate is as bad now as I have ever seen it.  I also believe despite good intents the President of this nation, Barack Obama is becoming a lame duck with two and a half years left in his second term.  And it seems at times as if the Supreme Court has thrown out common sense when interpreting the constitution.

Now having said that I am blessed to live in this nation.  It is still the richest and most powerful nation in the world.  But more importantly I am allowed to express myself and to criticize our leaders as I did in the first paragraph of this post.

Today marks the 238th birthday of the United States of America.  It is one of the longest running democracies in the world.  This has been accomplished through the sacrifice of thousands going back to the Revolution against the British to today with our troops deployed in Afghanistan and other Middle East hot-spots.  These brave men and women paid the ultimate price for our enduring freedom.  I have no way of expressing my gratitude to them and to those who have served in conflicts such as World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.  Today I say thank you to all of our armed forces past and present.  Because of you I am able to live in what I truly believe is the greatest nation on Earth.
