and Yet AGAIN

I have to laugh. I just looked at the TV sports lineup for this afternoon and see TBS is the latest media outlet to jump on the Yankees ratings bandwagon. TBS positions itself as a national outlet but it is based in Atlanta. My guess is most Atlantans would rather watch the Braves than a bunch of overpaid egotists from Gotham City. Go Indians!

The Hooser Neighbors are Outta Here!

They are gone. Thank God! The Hoosier neighbors who had been living next door for six months moved out after dark on a Friday night and have not come back. These are the ones who still had the Christmas lights up on the house even though it's been four months since Christmas. I knew all but two of them were gone, but the news that the father and daughter also left was excellent news!

Now, another family has moved in. For the week they have lived here they have been friendly and quiet. And that is just fine. One of the new renters was pleasant and came over when I saw her outside for the first time.

But, she told me something disturbing about the former tenants. Apparently, when her family moved in there were FOUR cats and a ferret left behind in the house without food or water. And you can imagine what the animals did to the house. There is now a large roll of carpet lying alongside the rental property. But, in a way it's justice for the owners of the house who rented it to the low life Hoosiers last fall.

And AGAIN

This afternoon the Fox Network is being creative with it's Game of the Week schedule. Guess who they are showing to most of the nation? Why it's none other than the freakin' New York Yankees. I'm sure most people outside of the rotten apple will be rooting for the Cleveland Indians to spank them.

The Weekend is Here

I sure was glad I didn't have to go to work this morning. It wasn't bad work wise, but the stress level is way up again. My boss apparently is unwilling to tell his superiors no and as a result we are overwhelmed. The number of projects we are juggling at one time is more than we have ever had before. Apparently upper management thinks we are sitting on our collective asses. And there's no relief in site. In the next week a very large project that will impact me directly begins. I can hardly wait. But, that is why they call it work and why they pay me. The beer is going to taste mighty good tonight.

They're On AGAIN

How many times is enough? ESPN is showing the New York Yankees yet again this evening. I guess the so called producers at the satellite station claiming to be the "leader in sports" must think the whole world loves the team from the Bronx.

Well, guess what? No one born south of Boston or west of the Hudson could give a rat's butt. But, since all the children who work at ESPN in production grew up in the city America resents, you are going to have to suffer this mediocre bunch a lot more this summer.

Change May be in the works

The references to my hoosier neighbor's may be coming to an end. It appears as if several if not most of them may have moved out. The loud car is no longer there and vehicles are no longer coming and going at all hours. Even the toilet that had been sitting on the side of the house for over a month is gone. Stay tuned for more details.

Check This Out

You may have a hard time finding it now because it's a seasonal beer...but Leinenkugel Brewing Company out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin has a fantastic brew named Big Butt.

It's a malty Doppelbock and is very dark in color. It has an interesting note of chocolate as it goes across the back of your tongue and heads down your throat. I wish there were more available but Leinie's only brews it between January and March.

The name is not someones referral to an ex-wife or old girlfriend, but rather the image of two Rams knocking heads in battle.

What a Week

No I don't mean that in a good way. Personally, things are fine. It was just the workplace. My co-workers wanted to sit on their collective asses and play. Meantime, the boss kept asking me questions and every time I gave him an answer he would ask me to take care of it. I don't mind doing my fair share or more, but it pisses me off when others have started their weekend on Friday morning.

Oh well, it's behind me now and I have the time to do what I enjoy...like this blogging thing.

An Awesome Basketball Game

As much as it chokes me as it comes out of my gut, I have to tell the Kansas Jayhawks congratulations on their national championship last night in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. As a Missouri fan it is particularly difficult to tell the low life from Lawrence nice job.

But, they pulled it out in the clutch. Granted Memphis couldn't hit a free throw to save itself, but KU hit the shots it had too. The nothing but net three point shot with two second left by Mario Chalmers was a dagger to the heart of the Tigers. I knew at that point, Memphis would be toast in OT. And Kansas did just that dismantling a beaten Memphis ball club.

I read some of the East Coast writers articles this morning on the Internet and have to disagree with the assessment of a Memphis choke. Memphis did hit a few shots, but KU just kept coming after them every time down the floor. It is the best NCAA championship game I have ever seen and is among the best I have ever seen at any level. So...um...uhum, congrats KU.

Hurry Spring

It's April, but it feels like it did four weeks ago. The temperatures in the morning are gradually getting warmer, but it still isn't as warm as it should be. And the rains just keep coming. It rained cats and dogs Monday night and I had a small stream across my basement floor into my laundry room where there is a drain.

My golf league played the first round yesterday afternoon. It was a little chilly but not too bad. But, you could tell it was wet by the "squish, squish, squish" every time someone took a step in the fairway.

But, good news is forecast. It's supposed to be in the 60s on Saturday with sunshine. I am looking forward to it.
