Rams Regressing

The St. Louis Rams may very well be the worst football team in the NFL. The club was embarrassed again this weekend by the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers mauled the Rams 35-0 and it could have been worse as the Niners were missing running back Frank Gore.

In four games the Rams have scored a whopping 24 points. The only game the Rams were in was against Washington and they fumbled that one away inside the Redskins ten yard line when they had a chance to go ahead in the fourth quarter.

This is not the fault of new head coach Steve Spagnulo. He is playing the hand he was dealt. The blame goes directly back to former general manager Jay Zygmunt for squandering numerous draft picks over the past five years. I suppose that's what happens when you let a lawyer who negotiated contracts judge talent.

Zygmunt has been replaced, but his efforts are going to be seen for several years. And my guess is St. Louisans will respond by voting with their feet and not showing up to see this lame excuse for a football team.
